Read MoreAnxiety, joyfulness, and other feelings are each given their own pedestal in this series of installation. Thirteen pieces representing different situations and emotions that people experience on a daily basis are presented. They are to be considered and reflected upon as they reveal hidden sentiments. The mixed medium art pieces look like three dimensional paintings, with key elements highlighted in color and effectively 'popping' out of the flat background surface. The artworks err on the threshold of paintings and sculpture, but remain simple in their composition. Hands play a thematic role along with abstract shapes and elementary shades of red, blue, yellow, orange and green, all juxtaposed against dark neutral tones of black and grey.

Read MoreEnter the colorful and playful world of Husseini’s soft and figurative sculptures. This is the latest frontier in this self-taught artist's experimentation with material and form. The sculptures are in plastic (PVC), fired at high heat and molded at their melting point. They display tell-tale signs of malleability and suppleness even when cooled and completely dry. The process allows leeway to haphazardness, veering away from the intended original design. The Pop Art figures are finished in varying coils and undulations, clad in primary shades of red, blue and yellow. Mixing figurative and abstract, some of the works have characteristics suggestive of human forms and expression. Minimalist in character, their effect is striking.

Aya Maria Nehme's ubiquitous dancers wink through layers of colors and bold splashes of paint, as if playing hide and seek between the viewer and the canvas. Carla Sayad, whose engravings of Beirut buildings and houses, etched in black ink and delicately accented with washes of watercolor, was already busy at work with live sketching, giving the audience a glimpse of the work in progress. Joyce Samaha's minimalist conceptual vases made of hardened white clay in soft shades of cream and pink look anything but, thanks to their inward- folding shapes, giving a false impression of malleability. In contrast, Lina Hussein's sculptural works are a mixture of shapes in all the colors, bringing to mind a bright, childlike playfulness, juxtaposed with the darker, existential aspects of the themes explored.
